PROJECT 4~ VAN GOGH INSPIRED COLLAGE

 Name: Itzel Sanchez

Description: For this project, we used a clear drying glue-like medium to attach tissue paper to a piece of construction paper. This became the background for a landscape idea that was made using different construction paper and then pasted onto the background.

Extension Activity: This can be used to assist with teaching/ learning habitats. Students will create their own background for a specific habitat with construction paper and tissue paper. Then they will create animals that live within the habitat they created and glue said animals on their background like we did with landscapes.

PROJECT 3~ THE DOT

 Name: Itzel Sanchez

Description: For this project, we first read the book The DotThe child in the story created art pieces that included dots so, this project entailed making our own dots. We were able to choose our own design, color, and coloring supplies. I chose to use crayons, watercolor and oil pastels to make my dot. Using a white crayon, I wrote out the word 'love' in the center of my dot. Then, I used blue crayons to outline the circle of the center of my dot and to create wavy lines coming out from the center of the dot as well. Later, I used pastels to create dots and hearts on the sections created by the wavy lines. Finally, I used watercolor to paint my dot and watched as it worked around the crayons and pastel colors and blended with itself in some areas.

Extension Activity: Students would be able to make their own dot as a practice dot. After this they could make a dot for a mathematics unit where they make it all about positive integers.

PROJECT 2~ ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES OF ART

 Name: Itzel Sanchez

Description: For this project, we made a presentation that described the elements and principles of art. Within that presentation, we had to take photos that portrayed each of the twelve elements and principles.  Attached are four of my favorite photos that portray some of the elements of art.

Color ~ This photo was taken in Salamanca, Spain in a walk through museum. It portrays color because there are a variety of hues, values, and intensities.

Value ~ This photo, take in Salamanca portrays value because there are a variety of dark and light colors within the image.

Space ~ This photo of a bookshop portrays space because there are a variety of sizes and you can really feel the area where these books are displayed.

Movement: This photo was taken from a video I took from my gender reveal and the powder that came exploded from the ball portrays movement very well as it was expanding away from my fiancĂ©.

Extension Activity: The photos could be turned into a KaHoot game that could be used as a pre or post test. If you wanted, you could have students divided into groups, find and take pictures of assigned elements and create a KaHoot using the images students provided.
